As we present this, YB’s first issue of 2012, we wish to extend to all of you the readers and fans of the magazine, Happy New Year!!!! It is my sincere prayer that this year has begun as a new slate. For all of us who may have ended 2011 in struggle, turmoil, or uncertainty, I encourage you to take on the spirit of the Apostle Paul in Philippians 3:13 & 14 -- "forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."

As we continue to press forward in our efforts to walk out our various destinies, I wanted this issue to touch on a topic that I believe has become somewhat obscure amid the many business scandals, affairs, and general chaos we face in these times. Integrity is not a word that is flowing freely in society nowadays. Though there are some people who hold this term in high regards, there are many who apparently have no comprehension of its meaning. We as a society used to hold integrity as a vital key in business dealings, personal relationships, etc. When it comes to the total person in today’s world, integrity is just not something that seems to be counted as a core value. I encourage all to read with closeness the cover story on Kel Mitchell; who is an awesome brother who shares his heart with no compromise.

This is my last issue as Editor-in-Chief of YoungBrotha Magazine. It has been a journey that has consistently challenged me and taught me a great deal about myself. Shareef Ali has already taken the reins of the publication and he and his team are hard at work to ensure the same level of quality of excellence and service YB has become known for.

God Bless each of you!

In His Service,
Charles Clark
