To All the Haters We Say Thank You!

I happened to be at the gym and looked over at a sign that said, “The people who say it can’t be done are those that are bothered by those who are doing something”. I loved the statement so much that I posted it on my twitter and facebook pages and people liked it a lot too. Many of you are in the same position today having people that are purposely speaking words of failure and tell you that something you’re aspiring to do will never happen. If you’re not careful, it will get “under your skin” to the point of giving them a piece of your mind seems like a good idea. In other cases it’s not even people that are your haters, but the enemy puts these negative thoughts in your mind. I say to you that when it seems like your back is against the wall and there are more against you than for you, know that the haters are actually working for your good. So don’t be mad at your haters be thankful for them because in the end they’re working for you. I’ll show you how they help and before finish reading this, I know you’ll be encouraged.

First you should be encouraged that you have people that don’t like what you’re doing because YOU’RE DOING SOMETHING! Some people wish they were in your position as a blessed person, pursuing a particular goal or dream that people can actually see coming to past. It’s a good feeling even if everything isn’t totally accomplished because you’re not just all talk but about doing something. I know a guy that every time I talk to him about what’s going on in his world, he ALWAYS has a business to start, traveling everywhere and things just seem to be on the right track. However he’s been saying these things for the past 12 years I’ve known him. It’s so easy for people to say what their going to do but actually doing it is most important. I heard another good quote from an unknown author that says, “what you’re doing should be so loud we can’t hear what you’re saying”. You may need to read that a few times to understand, but it basically says your actions should speak louder than your words. So if your one of those people that continue to get things done just know that someone will not like that and will say and do things to discourage you. But keep on moving and let the haters inspire you to pursue even harder!

Another thing we as believers have to be mindful of is that it doesn’t have to be people that try to bring us down but our own thoughts or as T.D. Jakes says, “the enemy in-a- me”. When dealing with the enemy as the hater, we have to take a different approach. Because your dealing with something that is in the realm of the soul and spirit, you have to use the word of God. Jesus had to actually deal with the enemy as the hater. When Jesus went into the wilderness to be tempted, the enemy came at him and every time the test came, He used the word of God. When the devil says you can’t do it, tell him you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (Phil 4:13). When the enemy says you’re a loser tell him you’re an overcomer and God always causes you to triumph (2 Cor. 2:14). The word is filled with words to combat the enemy. The goal for us is to meditate on the word and condition our souls or thoughts to be what God says and not what to voice of the enemy says.

My final words to you is that no matter what comes your way to discourage you, just know that God can work all things together for your good(Romans 8:28). When your haters come the results will end two ways: 1) You give up 2) You become stronger by allowing God to help you through your situations. When we allow God to fight our battles, experience from the last one helps us get through future ones. In essence we become stronger and wiser in dealing with every hater that would try to keep us from being all God wants us to be. So now that you know what having hater means, you can with all confidence and faith pursue all your dreams, tell the enemy to get behind you with the word of God, and thank the people that “hate” around you for catapulting you into your destiny.
